Village Bay Sea Products
was started in 1969 by entrepreneurs determined to modernize the cultivation
and harvesting of oysters.
They developed innovative cultivation methods that have become standard in the modern aquaculture industry. Today, Village Bay has approximately eight million oysters under cultivation.
A few years later, the company took on a similar challenge in processing rock crab. Establishing the first crab processing plant in the Canadian Maritimes, Village Bay focused on producing the highest quality product, meticulous hand packing and a commitment to customer satisfaction-standards maintained by the company to this day. By 1975, Village Bay had successfully introduced rock crab as a new product and created a preference among distributors for the Village Bay brand.
Using the same techniques and technologies developed for crab, Village Bay next turned its attention to processing lobster. Growing rapidly, Village Bay is now a major supplier of lobster products, supplying cooked meat and raw tails for the wholesale, food service, retail, and consumer markets.

Village Bay Sea Products exports internationally to North American countries and those in Europe and Asia.
The latest phase of the Village Bay Sea Products story is now unfolding with the introduction of gourmet specialty products created and perfected in a new state-of-the-art development kitchen at the Village Bay plant. The Village Bay development kitchen indicates the commitment we're making to value-added, natural gourmet specialty seafood. Village Bay is developing a broad line of lobster, crab and oyster based specialty products that serve as unique ingredients or ready-to-eat foods.
